I enjoy highlighting what we consider the mundane, like the side of the garage where the roof is falling apart or the kitchen wall on a dreary day. Recently I have been exploring the intimate moments I have while observing the world around me. Many of these moments, in the grand scheme are not altogether significant, but cherished nonetheless. I tend to remember small things in a moment that did not seem important at the time, but yet, there they are. I might not remember what someone said, but how they made me feel will be cemented in my consciousness. When I try to remember, I observe light forming new shapes, dynamic patterns, textures, and bright hues across shrouded details. Almost cloaking what was once there in light and shadow.
My art is an expression of my background, my faith, my life, my desire to give life to what I believe is most important. I aim to connect the viewer with my paintings in order to dig deeper into every aspect of life. I desire to give new language to different facets of ourselves, to God, and to our lives; through my art.
“Every poet and musician and artist, but for grace, is drawn away from love of the things he tells to love of the telling.”
C.S. Lewis
